When Adam and I decided to “spend 4 months at our cabin” during the beginning of COVID life turned into something far greater than we ever imagined. Our family traded traffic and fast-paced life for a slower pace, stronger community, and the opportunity to build something meaningful together.

As parents to two boys, Evan and Chase, building Local Scoop has become much more than opening ice cream shops. It has been a family adventure built with our own hands, late nights, early mornings, the proverbial blood, sweat and tears, and a whole lot of heart. From our first location in June Lake to growing into Mammoth and now Bishop, every shop has carried the same goal: create a place of joy, connection, basically the Cheers of Ice cream.

Over the years, Local Scoop has become more than just a stop for ice cream. It’s where families celebrate milestones, vacationers make it their yearly tradition, visitors become regulars, and local teenagers get their first jobs. Somewhere between scooping cones, learning customers’ names, and watching people gather night after night, this business became a true part of our family’s life and the communities we serve.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support that has allowed Local Scoop to grow from one small shop into something we’re deeply proud of, and we’re excited to keep creating spaces where people can chill, visit with friends and strangers, and make lasting memories together.
